Here is the NWS storm reports.

Many have complained about another blog saying the information is wrong. You have already seen our Skywatchers reports in the post below. So now to show you the NWS storm reports from across the FA. From what everyone is saying and some of the information that was copied and sent to me.I can understand most of your frustrations. So decided to use the NWS reports to show what blog is closer in reporting snow amounts.Sure wasn't them. Thanks to my viewers to bring this to my attn. This information is not needed out there. Now I know why many of the other blogs viewers came to this blog, and I thank you all for that. This blog is cut and dry we tell you how it is.Not picking around on some other sites to find snow amounts to match their forecasts or whatever they think. So once again Weather 4 You has debunked the other blog. If they would only join forces we would have a great team.Don't see that happen though.

Snowfall amounts

Most of my FA picked up 1/2 inch to as much as two inches.
Our Skywatchers in Rochester reported 1.50 inches of snow. Over in La Crosse our Skywatchers reported. 1.00 inches of snow. Up in Black River Falls our Skywatchers are reporting 1.50 Inches of snow. This lines up with the NWS storm reports.

Forecast for Rochester and La Crosse and the rest of the area.

Forecasts is cut and dry for the most part. Some problems do show up for Monday and Tuesday in regards to snow vs rain or rain vs mix.The weekend is will be dry and warm. Still will a few degrees cooler than what is has been so  middle to upper 30s will be forecasted, Could see a 40 or two down in my IA Counties. High pressure will give way to a rather complicated problem. Some of the models want to bring in a long wave while other form a low towards the Southwest. Either way this won’t be much of a concern to the FA if a low does form or if a long wave moves through. The only difference it will make it how much more rain would fall. Snow will not be that big of a problem for much of the area. Right now best areas to see snow will be well North of Rochester MN and over into my far Northern Counties of WI.Depsite  the warm SFC temps in those areas there should be enough evaporation cooling should allow for rain to mix with snow then switch over to all snow. Areas South of said line would see more rain on Monday through much of Tuesday. Rain cloud be mix with some snow at the start and then at the ending of this system. So overall  looks like a all rain event for Rochester over to La Crosse  and South of there. We will dry out for Tuesday night . Next little system to move through the area Once again should see more rain with some mix of snow vs all snow. As upper level profiles to warm for all snow. May see more snow over in my far Northern/Northeastern Counties of WI. Will hold on to rain snow mix through Thursday night as weak short waves drop into the area. Looks like next weekend will be dry and warm once again. Next storm system to effect on the 27th and 28th  the area appears to be heading North should give the FA more rain than anything. Will run with rain mixed with snow. GFS has the track to far to South and East. If this did work out the whole FA could be dealing with snow. Will not buy into that. Discussion with The Weather Center has also confirmed  GFS is an outlier.
The area forecast.
Tonight. Becoming PC. Lows 18 to 22.
Saturday. Sunny. Highs middle 30s.
Saturday night. Clear. Lows 17 to 20.

Friday through Sunday. Dry warm highs ranging from the middle 30s to lower 40s. Lows ranging from the lower 20s to middle 20s.
Monday. Chance of rain.  Rain could be mix with some light snow at times. Highs middle 30s.
Monday night. Rain possible mixed with snow. Lows upper 20s to lower 30s.
Tuesday. Rain then mixing with snow before ending. Highs lower 30s.

Big thank you!

A pat on the back from our viewers.
I want to take this time to thank all my viewers from the past and my new viewers that joined WEATHER 4 YOU from our rival blog. The emails are overwhelming. I will say I did bust on the Monday’s snowcast. For Monday. All part of the game of forecasting.
Here are some emails. Did remove the names and email address so our rival blog owner can’t contact to anyone as there is many of you from there.
Some emails WEATHER 4 YOU have received.
1.  I love Weather 4 you. You guys nail the forecast more often than none keep up the wonderful job.
Another email.
2. My hubby and I are so glad we found this blog. We really love how you folks have it all setup. Love to be able to look at the climate information you post.We both use to read another weather blog from down in this area,no more you guys have  better information out there.

3. This is excellent about time someone knows how to forecast the weather for my location, the other blog always seemed to have the wrong forecast most of the time and they never have any useful things like you guys do. We love you’re maps! Unlike the other blog that using the national weather service maps for watches and warning and stuff like that. That blog is so confusing they say one thing and yet the weather service’s map say another.

4. WEATHER 4 YOU IS THE BEST BLOG IN MY AREA!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU GUYS ROCK AND YOU GUYS ROLL.

That is just a very small amounts of emails we have received. A very big thank you to all that have found my blog.
Over 2000 hits so far this month. I never dreamed it would become this big. This will make me update this blog as much as I can now. I will try even harder and harder to keep bring everyone all the information you all like so much!
Paul.

The area forecast

Will only do this is a discussion type form for now, as really not much happen or is forecasted to.
Dull weather to keep to us warm and dry for the most part. Could be a very small chance of rain and snow on Friday as a cold front drops through the area. Better chance at seeing this will be in my far Northern areas, and in those far Northern areas could see all light snow/flurries. No accumulation is forecasted. This system keeps the lift and small amounts of moisture to our North/Northeast.
Highs will range from the upper 30s to lower 40s right through Monday. Monday night and Tuesday doesn't look like to much of anything for my FA. Looks to be light rain for most of the area, could see some light snow snow mixed in in my far Northern areas. If things did work out for a winter storm it would still bring the FA all rain with a mix in my far Northern spots.Lots of warm air is going to be heading north in all levels of the atmosphere.
So highs in the upper 30s to lower 40s through at least Tuesday. Lows in the lower to middle 20s could be a few nights we only drop into the upper 20s. Saturday night looks to be the coldest with lows in the upper teens to lower 20s.

Snowcast

Here is The Weather 4 You snowcast. Not much is forecasted at this point. This is vaild from Monday through early Monday evening.

The area forecast.

Moderating temps as we head into and through this upcoming work week. Will be a chance of some snow for Monday into Monday evening. No big deal for most of the area .Rochester should see less than a ½ inch. La Crosse around an inch and my IA Counties around an inch. A storm system will track South of the area this will allow for my IA Counties and my Southern WI counties to see around an inch of snow. Meantime my far Southern MN Counties may see around and inch. Points North less than ½ inch see snowcast map for information.
Temps will start their trend upwards as we head into the work week.Temps should be in the middle 30s. Lows in the lower to middle 20s. Next weekend could be another cold weekend setting up once again. Still some questions to how far South the cold air will make it. It’s a giving my Northern WI Counties will be cold. See The Weather Center’s forecast.
I do agree with their long term forecasts, however the more South one gets we could be dealing with more rain VS Snow in the 19th through 26th time frame. Something we will have to watch close as we seem to be close to the thermal line.
The forecast for La Crosse and Rochester and all of my forecast area.
Tonight. Clear chilly lows around 5 to 10 above.
Sunday. Sunny warmer highs middle 20s.
Sunday night. Clouds start to increase lows middle teens.
Monday. LIGHT SNOW likely less than ½ most areas.closer to an inch into IA. Highs either side of 30.
Monday night. flurries ending lows around 20.
Tuesday. Partly cloudy highs lower 30s
Tuesday night. Partly cloudy lows lower 20s
Wednesday. Partly cloudy highs middle 30s.
Wednesday night. Partly cloudy lows lower 20s.
Thursday. Partly cloudy highs middle 30s
Thursday night. Partly cloudy lows middle 20s
Friday. Partly cloudy highs middle 30s.
Friday night. Partly cloudy lows middle 20s
Did think about adding rain and snow into the forecast for Wednesday night and Thursday. Will keep it dry for now.

The forecast for the area.

A winter storm will stay well South of the FA this weekend, even my IA Counties will missed out on the snow. Looking at the QPF charts  shows all the precipitation remaining well South. Low pressure is forecasted to move out of the Southern plains into West Central  MO then will dive into KT before heading into NC. The low is forecasted to weaken as is takes a tour through the Central States. Rex block still sitting over the Northern Plains/upper Midwest.1035 MB high pressure is controlling the Northern and Midwest areas through the weekend. This has trapped moisture from the melting snow pack which for the most part is gone throughout much of the FA. Still this was enough to setup an inversion, drier air has worked into Northern WI thanks to an East/Northeast wind. This drier air is forecasted to work down into my FA as the day wears on. Should see fog slowly lift. I don’t think fog will be a problem tonight as it has been the last couple of nights/days. Taking a look at the visible satellite loop we see clearing skies over Northern WI this is working South, However clouds from the storm system well to our South are moving North. So will run with clouds today through tonight. Mixing should be better tomorrow so we should see skies become partly cloudy. Most of the USA will be locked under a large area of high pressure throughout much of next week. This could hold into next weekend the way it looks now.Still not sure how far the real cold air will make into my FA so far now will run with lower 30 much of next week.My WI counties may have to be chilled off more,as the cold air will rule over Northern WI.
Here is just one model of many we look at that shows the cold air. This off the 850 MB chart. Not sure if I buy this or not.

The forecast this is really easy.
Today. Cloudy. Fog slowly lifting highs middle 30s.
Tonight. Mostly cloudy lows middle 20s.
Sunday through Friday. Skies will range from partly cloudy to clear. Highs will be warmer on Sunday and Monday with upper 30s to lower 40s. Temps do start their  downward trend as we head through the week. So lower 30s for highs look good. Lows lower 20s look good.
Looking out in time next weekend through Sunday the 19th.
A weak area of low pressure could bring some light snow to Northern areas of WI. This should remain just to the North of my WI FA. GFS shows more snow on Sunday. Monday GFS tries to form a snow storm over much of MN and Western/Northwestern WI. All of my MN/IA Counties will remain on the warm side  on Monday so looks like a rain event maybe be mixed with some snow. Depending how fast the cold air can come into the FA snow amount should remain light as the rain mixes and changes over to snow. Would think my Northern WI Counties will see the higher amounts of snow, if this pans out. Temps look to be cold through Tuesday the 14th before another warmup starts.Cooler air is forecasted to move back into the area by Fri the 17th  with a chance of light snow.

Weather is slow but changes are coming.

Warm and dry weather through the weekend, This will hold for much of next week.Temps do cool off by next Thursday.Bigger story will be the colder air the may effect the area. Hard to say how far South it will drop into my forecast area. Temps will for sure drop back to at least slighty below normal.
