Your Forecast

Really not much to talk about for this week.Temps will start off warm with lower 40s then will slowly cool back off to the lower 30s for this weekend.Dry forecast for the week.Cold front will move in tomorrow afternoon,as of right now it looks to be dry.May see some drizzle over my far Northern areas.
One storm system pulls way to the South of the area for this weekend. We will remain dry here.
Looks like next week temps will cool back off more as more cold air builds and slides South into the area. Will have to keep an eye on a storm system early next week.Models have trended it North. This could end up being a rain maker for most of the forecast area.Snow could be found in my far Northern Counties.Rain should mix and change over to some light snow. If this track stays or shifts even more North. Best areas to see  snowfall will be in my far Northern Counties of MN and WI.
Notice forcast below. If an area has snow cover temps will be cooler, this why I went with a ranage.
Forecast
Tonight. Partly to mostly cloudy lows middle 20s.
Tomorrow. Partly sunny highs middle 30 to lower 40s.
Tomorrow Night. Partly to mostly cloudy lows lower to middle 20s.
Wednesday. Partly sunny highs 35 to 40.

Thursday Night. Mostly cloudy lows middle 20s.

Friday's snowcast

A clipper system will effect the area with some light snows on Friday. Once again the highest amounts will be found in my WI area.Northern Buffalo, Trempealeau, and Jackson Counties. Here we could see 2 to 3 inches of snow.
Low pressure is forecasted to move from just Southwest of Alexandra MN to Just Southwest and South of the Twin Cities, then Just South of Eau claire WI. This will give the whole forecast area a shot of snow.Totals will be light. With the track of this system once again my WI Counties stand to see the highest amounts see map for forecasted snowfall amounts.

Some news

I'm very happy to say I got a few skywatchers from the Rochester area.My Uncle who lives on the NW side and my Sister who lives almost down town. This will be a big help. Hope to get more throughout my FA.
Alos since I have started to forecast had over 2000 vistors 100 alone today.

The snowcast map

Below is the snowcast map will make it a lot easier to see where I'm forecasting snow event totals.

No change to snowcast.

The snowcast looks to be right on target,so I will not change it.See post below for that. The amounts I have seen line up with radar trends and short term/Meso models.

Going to get cold

First of thanks to The Weather Center for this map.Arctic cold front will move into the area.Temps will be heading down to around -7 to -3 in Rochester tonight.Over in La Crosse temps should fall to around -5 to -2.Will keep the colder readings in my far NE areas where temps could fall to -10 Same holds for NE IA. Thursday should be a sunny day with temps in the single digits. May not get much above zero in my far NE areas. Friday look for a good chance of snow. Will go with 1 to 3 inches for the Rochester and La Crosse areas. 3 to 6 inches of snow will be possible in my far MN Counties down into my NE IA Counties.Temps remain cold through the weekend with a slight warming trend for Sunday could see temps back in the lower 30s, however each passing computer model run has been trending colder,so will have to watch this.

Our first short term forecast

I just issued the very first short term forecast! Weather 4 You is gearing up. I'm in the process of getting all the climate dated for La Crosse and Rochester needed to start to work on the climatology report of this site. Thanks to Dirk getting this information for me.

Forecasting to start by the end of next week.

Weather 4 You should be in full gear by the end of next week. I still have some work I need to do, before we start forecasting. A very special thanks to Dirk from The Weather Center for the use of his computers and his time he helped me with this project. I have wanted to do this for a few years now, now it is coming together.
With Weather 4 You and the Weather Center, both these sites will work together on most forecasts. This way my northeastern part of my area will match up with The Weather Center's southwestern areas. Dirk and I hope this will bring better forecasts this way.
Another note is when Dirk is forecasting for Weather 4 You he will add to end of the forecast. Forecaster/ Dirk or DSM. Like I do when I forecast for The Weather Center. This way our viewers will know who has done the forecast.
